The Malaysian 3G / HSPA Wireless Broadband Guide
Hi there,
This
brief little guide is written for the benefit of local Malaysian
and foreign readers alike who wish to remain connected while on the go
in Malaysia. Being a traveller myself, I have tried all cel cos
(Cellular coomunications provider) in Malaysia who provide Internet
access via 3G/ 3.75G technologies. I should warn you readers that while
I strive to be unbiased for the purposes of this little review,
sometimes it is just not possible and often times any frustration or
dislike can be verified by Googling the name of the particular celco
along with some unflattering term - see the thousands of search result
popping up. Your experience may me the same or terribly different
depending on a number of factors.
Introduction
Malaysia has four (4) cel cos, in no particular order of preference or greatness - Maxis Communications, Celcom Mobile, U Mobile and DiGi telecommunications.
Each has a strength of its own and sometimes selecting the best to suit
one's needs can be a frustrating experience, usually discovered AFTER
having subscribed. The general rule is always go for the prepaid
package first - if the quality of service is good then make the move to
billed (postpaid) packages. All four celcos have both prepaid and
postpaid packages, with competitive prices.
To start, click on
the hash beside any of the celcos below or you could start with
Maxis and surf from that celco to the next few:
